Nollywood multi-talent, Funke Akindele has officially confirmed herself as the running mate to Lagos State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Olajide Adediran.

The news was confirmed by the thespian via a video that was shared on her Instagram page, where she officially declared her intentions.

Funke Akindele also revealed that she has put her entertainment career on hold, in preparation for this new phase.

The mother-of-2 promised to put in work and to put the interest of the people of Lagos at heart, come 2023. However, it could not go unnoticed that Funke Akindele omitted her ex’s name, Bello while re-introducing herself at the tail end of the video.

In her words;

I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women, and the girl child.

My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.
